2015 closed with a realization: while my closet was filled with clothes, I never had anything to wear. Ever.
All my outfits were half completed, I never had any seasonally appropriate Me Mades or RTW, no matching shoes: it was a mess. The beginning of 2016 started with me deciding it was time to finally get my closet up to speed and get down to the bottom of why nothing was working.
Sewing is such a passion but I found that I was making things randomly– nothing for the day to day. Sadly, I would end up wearing clothes that had stuck around long past their prime or that were gifted or I didn’t like.
I asked myself… why do I sew so much but never have anything I feel comfortable wearing?
It didn’t take long before I went on a rampage, clearing out my closet, pulling out clothes that were out of season and then stumbling on the Colette Wardrobe Architect. When I finished the introspective series, I came up with a plan of attack for my trusty sewing machine and those plans have all ready started to shape up for a great 2016 at Vintage on Tap!
The extra twist with my sewing list is that I can finally incorporate more vintage patterns, which is just in time for the Vintage Pledge of 2016!
